Exclusive Postcard – The White Hart Inn, Crickhowell (Now an Indian Restaurant)

This previously unpublished English-language postcard features a black-and-white photograph of The White Hart Inn, a historic coaching inn on Brecon Road, Crickhowell, dating back to the 15th century. Over the centuries, it served as a toll house, brewery, and landlord’s cottage, with distinctive architectural features such as a roughcast front, slate roofs, and unique chimney stacks.

One of its most famous features was the original toll sign from 1587, displayed on its front wall. The White Hart Inn was officially recognised as a Grade II listed building, preserving its historical significance.

Although the inn has now closed and been converted into an Indian restaurant, this postcard captures a nostalgic glimpse of Crickhowell rich pub history. Ideal for collectors, local history enthusiasts, or as a unique gift, this exclusive postcard is a tribute to one of the town’s lost historic inns.
